Orientation Instructions Welcome to "Tog's Newbie Academy", formerly Hero University. I'm Tog. I'm also about 50 other characters in game, and most are involved with this guide in some way. This page is a short set of instructions on how to navigate the site. Overall, it's pretty basic, but there are a few places where someone might run into a snag. For best results, a resolution of 1024*768 is suggested. If you run a widescreen, just ignore the extra desk on the sides. First off, the Bookshelf page. This is a page with a picture of a bookshelf on it. Moving the mouse over each book will display a little of what that book is about in the white space underneath. Positron's hand will clear the board. Clicking on a book will open it and take you to the table of contents or Topics List. The Bookends are just there to keep the books upright for now. On the previous version they were links as well, but that got changed. Now, a bit about the layout. Each page will have the Topic, and some little bit that is supposed to be either helpful or funny about the topic. The edges of the book are the same color as the one on the shelf. They will also alternate from left to right throughout the guide. There are a few times where the pages will have the same side twice in a row. This was to allow expansion. All topics will begin on the left page. It's not a bug, or error. On the Powerset pages, Primaries will be on the left, Secondaries on the right. It would just be too much work to have to move everything over to insert new information in the middle of a book. The navigation buttons at the top of the page do the following:
Prev means previous and will go back one of whatever it's for. There are also a few buttons at the bottom of the page to get to the next page and topic. If any of these don't do what they are supposed to do, please let me know. Each page will have the date of the most recent update listed at the bottom. This could be something like all new info, or it could just be a corrected typo or link. Also, this guide is written with a bit of Roleplay in mind. Obviously, it's supposed to be a school of sorts, and some sections are written in a different "voice". This is where those other 50 or so characters come into play. There really isn't anywhere to go from here, so I guess it's On to the Bookshelf. --Tog |
